Ava DuVernay's birth was on the 24th of August, 1972 in Long Beach California. DuVernay was encouraged to pursue her love of art by DuVernay's aunt Denise at the age of a small kid. Upon graduation, DuVernay studied in the University of California Los Angeles and earned degrees both in English as well as African American study. DuVernay began producing television news as an elementary school student. Her first job was as an intern for CBS News, during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay recalls being tasked to observe the house of a member of the jury and examine their junk. The tasks that she had to complete left her unhappy and so, after deciding not to continue in journalism, she moved on to the field of public relations. DuVernay began her first position as a publicist at small production studios right after she graduated from school. Her own Public Relations company, The DuVernay Agency was created in 1999. Apart from PR, the agency established several lifestyle platforms such as Urban Beauty Collective, Urban Thought Collective Urban Eye, HelloBeautiful.
